It's a Sunday Tradition...

Every Sunday, after usually sleeping in and catching up on sleep, I read PostSecret. PostSecret was created by Frank Warren as a way for individuals to express their deepest serets, while remaining anonymous. Since the website was created on January 2005, PostSecret has collected and displayed upwards of 2,500 original pieces of art from people across the US and around the world. Some of the secrets that are not uploaded to the PostSecret Website are saved and published to print. Frank has come out with four books, with his fifth (Confessions on Life, Death, & God) expected to be out later this year. The PostSecret blog is updated every Sunday with 20 new secrets. Below are a few from this week:

Another site that I like to check outevery now and again is PostCardsFromYoMama.com. This site contains emails, IM conversations, and little nots from mama's... And it goes to show you that every mom out there is really just as crazy as yours. These are just a few examples from the website:

I just love these websites becuse it gives a universal connection to us all. Personally, it helps me stay grounded and realize how lucky I am for all that God has given me. I hope you enjoy these websites as much as I do! XO. Mal.

I should probably mention...

...that on top of all things preppy--I love all things southern! I dream of the day that I can live in a truly Southern State (FLA just doesn't count in my mind--though, Southern Belle Store was nice enough to give us our own shirt--what a true example of Southern Hospitality!). Now, what is Southern Belle Store you ask? Well, it's a unique line of T-Shits, flip flops (called "thongs" on their website), and accessories designed to help you celebrate your Southern® all year long. They recently also added a number of new items, including: koozies, hats, bathin' suits, beach towels, bets, bags, and much more. Check it out here!

I love their line..they have hundreds of shirts that just have the darnest sayings. Here are a few of my favorites:

"Where Love is Present, Life is Full. God is Love...1 John 4:8"

"Down in the South where the water swirls, There ain't nothin' cuter than a Florida Girl!"

"When Life Gives you lemons, put them in your Sweet Tea and Thank God your a Southern Belle."

So every now and again, I'll not only be on the hunt for the exceptionally preppy and chic, but also...the exceptionally Southern! Hope ya'll don't mind ;)

Not your typical tote!

Can I tell you how much I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE tote bags? Well, I do. While Vineyard Vines and Lilly are, of course, some of my favorites...I recently discovered that you can actually design you own totes at Eliza B! I am soo excited. You can design your own tote and choose leather, madras, or canvas...pick your own color...and your liner! Eliza B will even monogram it for you!

Take a look:

Probably my favorite thing about these bags is the price. While Vineyard Vines Totes are close to $100 and Lilly totes probably begin at a price near there, ELIZA B. custom totes range from only $40-$60 (though totes with custom liners are a little more).

Now, as if unique totes weren't enough...you can also customize your own accessories, too! Flats, flip-flops, belts, dog collars, headbands, watch bands, luggage tags, and key chains are also available. Are they not soo cute! (Take a look at some of the canvas colors and ribbon choices)

Well, I'm off to start designing :) Talk to ya again soon.

Getting Started

So this is the first time that I've ever done any type of blogging before. So I guess to get started I should tell ya'll a little bit about myself. I was born in raised in the same house in Tampa, Fla. I absolutely love my family and they mean the world to me. Growing up was the best! I was fortunate enough to grow up with the same group of kids until i reached high school. I attended an all girls Catholic High School (Academy of the Holy Names) and had the best experience ever! There I learned the art of being preppy chic and fell in love with Vera Bradley, Steven Salario Shoes, and, of course, Lily Pulitzer. Today I am getting ready to start my Junior year in the College of Business at Florida State University. FSU has become my home away from home and it's where I continue my search for all things preppy :) One day, I hope to have a big family of my own, live in the deep south surrounded by my loved ones, and own my very own preppy chic botique.
